1. Walk.
If you have daytime sleepiness, you need to increase blood circulation and saturate the body with oxygen. Regular walks can have a positive effect on health at any age. Proper and regular walking will help saturate the tissues of the spine with oxygen, strengthen the intervertebral discs. When walking in the fresh air, the brain receives more nutrition, improves blood circulation, activates weakened neural connections, drowsiness disappears. During daily walks, the heart muscle and blood vessels are trained, so the risk of heart attack and stroke is halved, and the risk of varicose veins is reduced.
2. Sunlight.
Try to get a dose of sunlight every day to help fight daytime sleepiness. This will help regulate the sleep and wake cycle. When you are outdoors, your brain receives signals that it is time to be active. In order for vitamin D to accumulate in the body, you need to sunbathe every day for 15-20 minutes. Take vitamin D as a supplement in autumn and winter.
3. Take a cold shower.
Take a cold shower (or contrast), it will help overcome daytime drowsiness. It will cheer you up and make you healthier at the same time. If you can’t take a shower, wash your face with cold water. A sharp change in temperature will wake you up, improve blood circulation and help you focus.
4. Add more Omega-3s to your diet.
Omega-3 boosts immunity, gives you more energy and keeps your mind active throughout the day. You can take capsules or eat more fatty acids. These can be salmon, tuna, sardines, peas, legumes, eggs, soy products and olive oil.
5. Aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy helps to increase energy levels and overcome fatigue, irritability, headaches and daytime sleepiness. Mint, grapefruit, orange, basil and rosemary are some of the best essential oils to help with daytime sleepiness. You can rub a few drops between your palms and take a few deep breaths or add oil to the aroma lamp.
6. Water with lemon.
Drinking a glass of water with lemon every morning on an empty stomach can help prevent daytime drowsiness. Dehydration also affects the level of oxygen in the brain, the reduction of which can cause fatigue or drowsiness during the day. Lemon water saturates the body with vitamin C, promotes the excretion of toxins and speeds up metabolism.
7. Exercises.
Physical activity increases blood flow to all parts of the body, making you feel more energetic. With 30 minutes of daily activity, you can get good results. If it is not possible to perform exercises during working hours, at least take a walk during the lunch break or do a little stretching in a free office or hallway.
8. Take Armod or Artvigil.
They contain a different formulation of Modafinil that acts in a similar way, but may be more effective in some patients. These medications indirectly block the reuptake of dopamine in the brain to promote wakefulness and clarity of thinking. Unlike other stimulants that affect the central nervous system, Armodafinil does not inhibit motor function, allowing you to carry on about your day with increased focus and energy to accomplish your tasks.
